Art. 1. ORGANIZATION OF THE CONTEST
The VINARIUM International Wine Contest 2025 is organized by ASER Consulting & Management.
VINARIUM 2025 will be held under the patronage of OIV (International Organization of Vine and Wine) and VINOFED (World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions).
Starting with 2020, FIJEV (the International Federation of Wine and Spirit Journalist and Writers) has become a Partner.
This Contest is organized in compliance with the Rules of the international wine contests, as developed by OIV; the samples will be assessed by an international jury with members recognized for their experience and professionalism.
The Contest will take place between 22 – 25 May 2025.
The deadline for online or e-mail registration of samples is 27 April 2025.
The deadline for reception of registered samples is 03 May 2025.
Failure to comply with the registration deadline or reception of samples will result in the impossibility of taking part in the contest.
Art. 2. ACCEPTANCE OF THE SAMPLES IN THE CONTEST
VINARIUM 2025 is open to all categories and types of wine, as defined in the “International Code of Oenological Practices”, which were produced in compliance with the legislation of the country of origin. Other special wines or grape-based products, must or wine, as well as spirituous beverages of vitivinicultural origin will be admitted in the Contest.
The wines and other vitivinicultural products presented to the jury will be grouped in categories, according to the OIV regulation and as described in ANNEX I.
Each wine sample or vitivinicultural product sample submitted to the Contest will consist of
- 4 bottles of 0.75 liters each (in certain cases, 0.5 liter and 1-liter bottles will also be accepted), or
- 3 bottles of 1.5 liters or 2 liters each.
All such samples need to be for sale and originate from a homogenous lot which is at the organizer’s discretion, of 1.000 liters minimum. In certain cases, when the production of a certain wine is extremely limited (wines of botrytis grapes, ice wines, wine collection, etc.), a limited volume, but no less than 100 liters, can be permitted on grounds of low production.
Each sample must be submitted in its commercial label and presentation package, complying with the legislation of the country of origin. If a special package was created for the contest, the wine sample shall be accompanied by explanatory papers.
Exceptions, respective samples belonging to lots with less than 1,000 liters and samples without the label with which it is marketed shall be admitted only with the agreement of the organizer.
Art. 3. REGISTRATION METHOD

- Each participant must submit to the organizers (by mail) at daniela.paduraru@iwcb.ro the following completed documents:
- Participant registration form
- Wine registration form, each sheet will have attached the front label and back label of the bottle
- Analysis Certificate of Product in accordance with ANNEX II.
- The organizer prepares an Invoice that will be sent by email to the participant.
- The participant shall provide proof of payment of the registration fee.
- Participant registration form, Product registration form, and Analysis Certificate of Product must be enclosed in the same box as the wine sample bottles, together with two labels for each sample (a front label and a back label).
On the box containing the documents, it will be specified «It contains documents».
Careful! The participant’s record sheet will be completed once!
Both the Participant registration form and the Wine registration form may be downloaded (along with Annex1 and Annex 2) from the VINARIUM International Wine Contest 2025 website at www.iwcb.ro/eng or requested at daniela.paduraru@iwcb.ro.
Participant registration form shall contain the following information:
- The participant’s identity
- The authorized person’s name and signature and the company’s seal
- The list of all the products submitted in the contest
Each wine or vitivinicultural product shall be accompanied by a Product registration form, which shall contain at least the following information:
- The exact name of the product in compliance with the legislation of the country of origin
- Vintage (if applicable)
- Country, region
- Grape variety or varieties (indicating the percentage in which they appear in the wine)
- The category of the product in accordance with Annex I
- Color
- Sweetness
- Alcohol content (% alc. vol.)
- Residual sugar (g/l)
- Wood maturation of wine (if applicable)
- Only for sparkling or semi-sparkling wines – CO2 Pressure (atm. at 10o C)
- The available commercial quantity corresponding to the sample submitted to the Contest.
- Ex Works price (EXW) – Ex-cellar packaged price (excluding administrative customs costs, taxes, and transport)
- Sales channels for products entered.
Art. 4. THE REGISTRATION FEE
Registration Fees are:
- 1-5 entries 90 euro/ entries
- 5+ entries 80 euro/ entries
*For Romanian companies, add 19%VAT. For other countries: noVAT is applicable if the VAT number is stated on the Customer Record form.
The registration fee does not include shipping and customs fees.

The delivery documents shall bear the indication of the sender’s name and the specification: “CONTEST SAMPLES. NO COMMERCIAL VALUE. DDP Delivery Condition”
The note accompanying the box and the AWB shall have the “accounting information” field filled in as follows: DDP Delivery Condition (delivered duty paid, with shipping costs, customs’ duties and taxes paid by the sender).
The reception of the samples requires the Participant Registration Form and Product registration form.
The deadline for online or e-mail registration of samples is 27 April 2025.
The deadline for reception of registered samples is 03 April 2025.
Failure to comply with the registration deadline or reception of samples will result in the impossibilityof takinge part in the contest.
The samples received without Product registration form, as per art. 3 or not complying with the registration criteria will not be returned and will remain in the organizers’ possession.
The samples accepted for the contest will also remain in the organizers’ possession.
Art. 6. SORTING AND CLASSIFYING THE CONTEST SAMPLES
The checking and registration of the samples shall be done by Organizers, based on the registration forms. The Organizers guarantee the storage of the samples in good preservation temperature conditions.
Based on the registration forms and the technical data, the samples will be classified into categories according to Annex I. Their order of presentation in the Contest will be established in the decreasing order of vintage and increasing order of sugar concentration.
Samples types registered in the Contest will be:
- white non-aromatic wines
- rose non-aromatic wines
- red non-aromatic wines
- aromatic wines
- sparkling wines
- liqueur wines, mistelles
- other special wines or grape-based products, must or wine
- beverages of vitivinicultural origin.
Art. 7. THE JURY
Each wine-tasting jury consists of 7 (seven) members, of which at least 4 (four) will represent foreign countries, and the other 3 (three) will represent the organizing country, or of 5 (five) members, of which at least 3 (three) must represent foreign countries, and the other 2 (two) will represent the organizing country.
Each jury will activate under the authority of a president belonging, in principle, to the organizing country.
The members of the jury will have to keep quiet and not make gestures or explicit mimics of their personal impressions during the wine-tasting process.
Each jury is going to taste a limited number of 50 samples/day.
After marking the wine, each member of the jury must sign his/ her assessment sheet. All the wine-tasting assessment sheets must be signed by the president of the jury.
The jury activates under the authority of a Presidium made up of 3 (three) members:
- A President
- An Oenological Counselor
- A Legal Counselor.
The Presidium organizes the repartition of the phases per panel of judges. It also bears the task of supervising all of the preparation of the phases, of judging and communication of the results, especially ensuring the absolute anonymity of the samples until the end of the wine tasting.
The Presidium may decide upon a new tasting of a sample if:
- The president of the jury requests it;
- The majority of the members of the jury request it;
- There are high differences between the marks of the members of the jury.
The members of the Presidium will not take part in the assessment process.
OIV delegates an observing expert for the entire period of the Contest. This expert may participate in the works of the various juries if he considers it appropriate.
The hall where the samples are being judged must be isolated, illuminated, and well-aerated. The access of any person who is not involved in the organization of the wine tasting will be formally prohibited. Smoking and the use of mobile telephones in the hall will also be prohibited.
Art. 8. PRIZES
The secretariat of the contest will transform into figures the qualitative assessment written on the wine-tasting sheets. The final mark is calculated as average with the elimination of the extremes.
The samples which receive upon tasting the following marks will be granted distinctions, as follows:
- over 93 points The Great Gold Medal
- between 89 and 92,99 points Gold Medal
- between 85 and 88,99 points Silver Medal
The number of distinctions (medals) must not exceed 30% of the total number of samples admitted to the Contest, according to the OIV regulation.
For the beverages of vitivinicultural origin, other special wines and grape-based, must or wine, products, the 30% distinctions limitation can be calculated distinctively to the rest of the wines. The same rule will be applied to collection wines and those with vintage from 2017 to the present day.
Art. 9. DELIVERY OF PRIZES
The awarded samples will be announced on 30 May 2025.
The full list of winners shall be posted on www.iwcb.ro/en.
As for winning proof, diplomas and prize cups/medals will be awarded. The organizers shall provide, against payment, a self-adhesive label that indicates the medal awarded to be applied on bottles. The Organizers reserve the right to mention in any situation (printed press, radio, TV, Internet, presentation catalogues) the results of the Contest, the names and data regarding the participants’ identity.
Art. 10. LEGAL AND CONTRACTUAL PROVISIONS
The winners who intend to reproduce the logo or prize cups /medal of the Contest on the label or in any other context must expressly apply for such right and an agreement shall be concluded with the Organizer of the Contest, ASER Consulting & Management.
The falsification of the logo, its reproduction and use without the Organizers’ prior consent is strictly forbidden and will be punished under Romanian law. The false declaration regarding the minimum limits of the available wine volume corresponding to the samples registered in the Contest, as in art. 3, is punished according to the legislation, at the Organizers’ call.
Any organizational changes will be posted on VINARIUM official site.
The Organizer has the right to request additional laboratory analyses of the samples registered in the Contest or for the samples which will be found on sale bearing the VINARIUM logo.
The participant will be directly liable for all the information and data comprised in the Participant registration form and Product Registration Form.
All the complaints and claims regarding the organization, performance, prize awarding will be addressed to the Organizers for an amicable settlement. If this is not possible, their settlement will be referred to the competent courts of law from Ilfov County, Romania.
