Romania consolidates an international benchmark in wine evaluation.
VINARIUM International Wine Contest, the most important international wine competition in Central and South-Eastern Europe, reaches its XXIII edition in 2026.
The competition will take place between May 28–31, 2026, reconfirming Romania’s role as a relevant validation-communication platform in the global wine industry.
The awards for the most expressive labels are offered by IPPU Packaging & KURZ Romania.
24 labels were selected by the tasting committees, and in the final round, Art Critic Adrian BUGA nominated the three winning labels and dedicating a specialized review to each of them.
During the XXII edition of VINARIUM International Wine Contest, which took place in Ploiești between May 22nd – 25th, 2025, the 8 judging panels chose each day of the competition several wines for the label competition – IPPU Packaging & Kurz Romania. They made a selection of the best visual presentations – packaging & labeling ensemble – in terms of aesthetics, support of the oenological message, the personality of the winery, plus the manner of production.
World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits competitions
The VINOFED Prizes are awarded to the dry wines in the competition with the highest score in the white, rosé, red and sparkling categories.
VINARIUM International Wine Contest is organized under the patronage of OIV (the International Organization of Vine and Wine) and VINOFED (the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits competitions). It is the only competition in Romania that holds this status.
FIJEV (the International Federation of Wine and Spirit Journalist and Writers) is Partner of VINARIUM.
