Ian BANCROFT

Ian Bancroft is a regular contributor to Glug Magazine in the UK, writing about wine regions
around the world. His work focuses primarily on indigenous grape varieties, contemporary
winemaking trends, and the culture and history of wine.
He has also written for Wine Spectator and Full Pour, and writes a blog, Autochthoinos
(https://autochthoinos.substack.com/), about lesser known grapes.
Ian is a writer and former diplomat, based in Belgrade, Serbia. Ian has written travel articles
for various publications, including AramcoWorld, The Independent, and The New World.
