During the XXII edition of VINARIUM International Wine Contest, which took place in Ploiești between May 22nd – 25th, 2025, the 8 judging panels chose each day of the competition several wines for the label competition – IPPU Packaging & Kurz Romania. They made a selection of the best visual presentations – packaging & labeling ensemble – in terms of aesthetics, support of the oenological message, the personality of the winery, plus the manner of production.

From the almost 1400 samples entered in the competition, 24 labels that represent wines from all over the world were chosen to enter the label competition.

For the final decision we turned to a professional in art evaluations, Adrian Buga, and he distinguished the 3 labels that are on the podium and benefit from the IPPU & Kurz Romania awards (one label for each category: white, rose and red).

Adrian Buga is an art historian and critic with extensive experience in the field, a certified expert of the Ministry of Culture. He chose the wines that had the most interesting and balanced identities and visual expressions, namely:

  • White wine: DeWino Goruli Mtsvane 2022 – Batono Winery, Georgia
  • Rosé wine: Ataman rose 2024, Crama Hamangia, Romania
  • Red wine: Pata Negra – Tempranillo Crianza 2020, Garcia Carrion, Spain

IPPU Packaging together with KURZ Romania are offering three exceptional prizes. Each prize includes the production of a print run of 5,000 sets of labels (front and back), made with inspiration and professionalism by the IPPU Packaging and KURZ Romania teams.
