{"id":9234,"date":"2025-04-17T06:19:32","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T06:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iwcb.ro\/en\/?p=9234"},"modified":"2025-06-02T09:55:34","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T09:55:34","slug":"bucharest-april-16-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iwcb.ro\/en\/bucharest-april-16-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Bucharest, April 16 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 22nd Edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwcb.ro\/en\/\"><strong>VINARIUM International Wine Contest<\/strong><\/a> will take place in Ploie\u0219ti, Romania, between May 22\u201325, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VINARIUM is the most important International Wine Competition in Central and Southeastern Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Patronage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>VINARIUM is held under the patronage of <strong>OIV<\/strong> (International Organisation of Vine and Wine \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oiv.int\">www.oiv.int<\/a>) and <strong>VINOFED<\/strong> (World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vinofed.com\">www.vinofed.com<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VINARIUM has been an active member of VINOFED since 2017.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>FIJEV<\/strong> (International Federation of Wine and Spirits Journalists and Writers \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fijev.org\">www.fijev.org<\/a>) has been a VINARIUM partner since 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Official Observers present in Romania:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mr. Manuel CAPOTE, Spain, Board Member of VINOFED<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Richard PFISTER, Switzerland, OIV Observer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mrs. Janna RIJPMA MEPPELINK, Netherlands, Vice-President of FIJEV<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sample Categories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to OIV, the samples admitted in the competition belong to the following categories: still wines, sparkling wines, and vitivinicultural spirits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judging is electronic and conducted according to the OIV Evaluation Sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 1,500 samples from more than 26 countries are expected. The limit date for registration of samples: May 10, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Distinct judging categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Organic Wines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Amber\/Orange Wines and Qvevri\/Amphora Wines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-alcoholic Wines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PIWI Wines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">VINARIUM Jury<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Judging will take place in 8 panels, each composed of 5 judges, and led by a President. So far, judges from 20 countries have confirmed their participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VINARIUM 2025 jury list is available here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwcb.ro\/en\/jury-2025\/\">https:\/\/www.iwcb.ro\/en\/jury-2025\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The international jury consists of highly qualified experts \u2013 oenologists, certified ADAR tasters, Masters of Wine, PhDs in oenology, and WSET-certified professionals. Some judges are also influential wine communicators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Awarded Medals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The consensual score for each sample will be calculated as the arithmetic mean of all the judges\u2019 scores, after removing the highest and lowest scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to OIV regulations, only 30% of the entered samples may receive a medal. The scoring brackets are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Grand Gold Medal<\/strong>: 93\u2013100 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gold Medal<\/strong>: 89\u201392.9 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Silver Medal<\/strong>: 85\u201388.9 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>VINOFED<\/strong> will award prizes to the highest-scoring dry wines in the following categories: white, ros\u00e9, red, and sparkling wines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>FIJEV<\/strong> will present special awards to the highest-scoring Romanian wines, either made from indigenous grape varieties or blends where local grapes account for at least 50%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IPPU Packaging &amp; Kurz Romania Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>VINARIUM judges will select the top 3 visual presentations (packaging &amp; labeling) based on aesthetics, the expression of the oenological message, winery personality, and execution quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ippu.ro\/\">IPPU Packaging<\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kurz.hu\/ro\/\">KURZ Romania<\/a> will offer three exceptional prizes. Each prize includes the production of 5,000 sets of labels (front and back), crafted with skill and professionalism by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ippu.ro\/\">IPPU Packaging<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kurz.hu\/ro\/\">KURZ Romania<\/a> teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kurz Romania will handle the premium embellishment using the most attractive foils and decoration tools, while IPPU will provide technical and graphic assistance to ensure high-quality print execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>*IPPU Packaging<\/em><\/strong><em>, part of the Prime Label group, has over 30 years of experience in self-adhesive label printing and covers more than 75% of Romania\u2019s wine label market.
